Kim Firmston – Scriptwriter and Words Director

Kim FirmstonKim Firmston is a published writer of Young Adult novels, short stories, and articles. Her short story “Life Before War” was shortlisted for the 2008 CBC Literary Awards. Kim is also an accomplished, unconventional playwright and has plays produced worldwide. She is a Program Director and instructor for Alexandra Writers Centre Society, WordsWorth Writers Camp (Writers’ Guild of Alberta), and the AWCS DramAntics Theatre camp. Kim is a real life mutant – though one without any cool powers. When she is not writing novels and plays, or cursing obvious villain mistakes, she warps young minds in her Reality is Optional Kids’ Writing Club and Novelmancers Novel Writing Club. Kim is dedicated to sharing writing with youth, including those not able to write yet and mentoring those who wish to make it their career. Kim specializes in collaboration projects with people of all ages and has brought her outstanding literary and dramatic gifts to The 3 Project.

Stefano Valdo – Musical Director

Stefano ValdoStefano Valdo is a talented performer, studio musician and music educator.  Born in Northern Italy, he studied classical guitar and double bass, and in 1988 he moved to Los Angeles to study jazz arranging and composition at the Grove School of Music, where he eventually joined the faculty. This was followed by other stints as a music educator, as well as continued work as a much-sought-after performer and session musician. In 1999, Stefano earned a Master’s Degree in Music from California State University, where he eventually taught theory and ear training to young, developing music students. Stefano and his family moved to Calgary in 2006, where he keeps a busy schedule performing and recording for various independent artists in jazz, rock, and classical music projects. Since 2008 he has been educating aspiring young jazz musicians at Ambrose University where he has been appointed Jazz Program Director. Stefano is a committed supporter of the creative community.

Frederick Tamagi – Producer

Frederick TamagiFrederick Tamagi is a songwriter, entrepreneur, speaker, and arts community builder. He is a co-founder and former owner of Koi, one of Calgary’s foremost arts and music communities, and is the co-founder and Inner Community Leader for The Indie YYC, a growing social media platform “dedicated to inspiring local artists in pursuit of independent creativity, independent thought, independent life.” Frederick is passionate about encouraging and providing opportunities for independent creatives of all artistic genres, and he conceived The 3 Project as an innovative showcase opportunity for these outstanding community artists.

David Andrew Wiebe – Associate Producer

David Andrew WiebeBorn in Camrose and raised in Japan, David Andrew Wiebe is the Founder & CEO of Music Entrepreneur HQ. A passionate creative community builder, David is the co-founder of The Indie YYC and is also an outstanding songwriter, musician, and best-selling author of many books and essays focused on helping community artists of all genres. In addition to his creative talents, David is an accomplished technical adviser and web developer, with several years experience as a member of the theatre tech team at Mount Royal University. Following in the footsteps of his late father and grandmothers, he also supports the education of underprivileged children in South America and other related projects. David brings his wide-ranging gifts and sincere respect for the creative community to The 3 Project.
